The Problem Definition

The Client needed support and expertise to implement two new Projects being implemented in their Organization for Demand Planning (e2Open), Transportation Management (BluJay), and ERP integration (QAD).  The skills sought after needed to provide Technical and Functional expertise in the areas of Current State Process Mapping, defining Business Requirements for software Solution design, and defining the Future State Supply Chain Planning Processes and Systems.

IMPROVEMENT
FOCUS

  • Document Master (Customer, Location, Item) and Transactional (Inventory, Shipments, Order Cuts) Data mapping fields and tables for the Project Team.

  • Prioritize Business Process changes that affect the Data flowing through the new System with the Business Team.

  • Create documentation (specifications) for logic and filters being used to combine the Master and Transactional Data fields and attributes.

  • Document notes and pending items for Demand Planning interface builds on Item Master, Unit of Measure (UoM), Business/Location Calendar, and Sales Orders into the e2Open system.        

  • Cleansing Data extracts for various levels of the Sales and Budget Forecasts.

Results:

  • Business sign-off and approval for the Solution Configuration Design (SCD).

  • Finalize User Stories that impact how the Data will flow from the Demand Planning Team (Forecast) to the Supply Planning Team (Production) in the e2Open system:

    • Sales Order Prioritization

    • Forecast Prioritization

    • Forecast Netting Against Sales Orders

    • Forecast Netting Against Actual Shipments

  • Designed and documented optimal Business Processes with Cross-Functional Team Members in IT, Commercialization, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
