The Client's Distribution Center was operating with an outdated legacy Warehouse Management System that required modernization to maintain Operational Efficiency and support Business growth. The Organization needed to implement a Tier 1 WMS solution that would replace the legacy Warehouse Management System while minimizing Operational disruption and maintaining Business continuity.

The MJW Group was engaged to rescue a previously failed WMS Implementation that had stalled eight months earlier, deploying a Senior Project Manager to establish comprehensive Project structure and dedicated Leadership where previous efforts had fallen short. We created a complete Project framework from the ground up, implementing The MJW Group's structured Project Lifecycle Methodology encompassing Initiation, Planning/Design, Configuration, Testing, Training, Deployment, Hypercare, and Closing Phases. Our approach addressed critical Resource challenges by optimizing an understaffed Project Team and establishing comprehensive oversight of three external Vendors, ensuring seamless coordination and accountability across all Stakeholders and the Leadership Team.

Results:

This Systematic Transformation successfully rescued a previously failed Initiative and delivered a fully Operational WMS Implementation that now effectively serves the Distribution Center during both peak and non-peak Operational periods. The Project demonstrated the critical value of dedicated Project Leadership, comprehensive Stakeholder Management, and limited Change Management in achieving a successful Technology Implementation on schedule.)
